Dig into Mound

A Marketing Campaign Targeted to Capture Investors

“MP+G Marketing Solutions created a distinctive brand for the city's developer communications. Their eye-catching marketing package and memorable ‘Dig into Mound’ graphics and tagline helped us to get a fresh new look and attracted new interest in the project.”

Kandis Hanson | City Manager | CITY OF MOUND, MINNESOTA

A Golden Opportunity

Digging Deeper: The City of Mound was looking for way to create new interest in its Mound Harbor site. The shovel-ready site had a lot of initial interest but when the economy slowed, so did the prospects. With development and construction on the upswing in the neighboring cities and the economy moving steadily forward, it seemed the perfect time to promote the last main street development and restaurant site on Lake Minnetonka.

Mining the City’s Gemstones: MP+G researched the city’s main selling points and developed key messages around its strengths and benefits to appeal to the developer market. We designed a personalized mailer for the City’s list of top prospects. A complete sales tool for the site and the City, the package included a letter from the mayor, a letter from the city manager, and a full-color brochure outlining the key benefits of both the property and location.

Future Plans: The city manager recently retired. The city continues moving forward with improvements. They have received more interest and offers on development properties within the city limits, but the District Harbor parcel remains a golden opportunity for right investors.
